Purpose
This Financial Arrangements Policy outlines the financial responsibilities of students participating in Erasmus+ mobility programmes through FUNIC Cameroon Higher Institute of Entrepreneurship and Technology (FUNIC). The policy promotes transparency and ensures that students clearly understand the financial support available under Erasmus+ as well as their own financial obligations.
Erasmus+ Financial Support
Students selected for Erasmus+ mobility may receive an Erasmus+ grant in accordance with the funding rules applicable to the specific mobility project.
The Erasmus+ grant is intended to contribute towards the additional costs of international mobility and may include support for:
Travel Expenses
Contribution towards travel to and from the host country.
Accommodation & Living
Support towards accommodation and basic living expenses.
Individual Support
Personal support during the approved mobility period.
The Erasmus+ grant is a contribution towards mobility costs and may not cover all expenses incurred by the participant.
Student Financial Responsibilities
Unless expressly covered by the Erasmus+ grant or another approved funding source, students are responsible for all personal expenses associated with their mobility, including but not limited to:
Students are encouraged to prepare a realistic budget before accepting a mobility placement.
Tuition Fees
Students participating in Erasmus+ mobility shall remain registered students of FUNIC throughout the mobility period.
Accordingly, FUNIC tuition and any approved institutional fees shall remain payable during the approved mobility period, unless otherwise determined by an official institutional policy.
In accordance with Erasmus+ principles, the receiving institution should not charge Erasmus+ students tuition, registration, examination, laboratory or library fees for the approved mobility period.
Fees Charged by the Host Institution
Where the host institution charges administrative or service-related fees that are permitted under Erasmus+ rules and applicable to its own students, responsibility for such fees rests with the student.
Students should familiarise themselves with the host institution's regulations and the applicable Erasmus+ rules before departure.
FUNIC does not determine or control the fees, policies or administrative charges imposed by partner institutions.
Insurance
All students participating in international mobility are strongly encouraged to obtain adequate insurance covering the entire mobility period. Students should ensure that they have appropriate coverage for:
Students must also comply with any insurance requirements imposed by the host institution, host country or relevant immigration authorities.
Visa and Residence Permit Costs
Students are responsible for all costs associated with obtaining the necessary immigration documentation, including:
- Visa application fees
- Residence permit fees
- Biometric enrolment charges
- Medical examinations where required
- Police clearance certificates where required
- Translation, notarisation or legalisation of documents where applicable
Students are responsible for ensuring that they obtain all required travel documentation before departure.
Additional Financial Support for Students with Fewer Opportunities
In line with the Erasmus+ Inclusion and Diversity Strategy, FUNIC is committed to ensuring equal access to international mobility opportunities.
Students with fewer opportunities, including those with personal, physical, mental or health-related conditions or other circumstances requiring additional support, may be eligible for additional Erasmus+ financial assistance where permitted under the Programme.
Requests for additional inclusion support shall be submitted through the applicable Erasmus+ procedures and are subject to justification and approval in accordance with Erasmus+ funding rules and the requirements of the relevant National Agency.
Other Sources of Funding
Students may receive financial support from scholarships, sponsors, governments or other funding bodies, provided that such funding is compatible with the applicable Erasmus+ regulations and the conditions of the relevant funding providers.
